Invitation to NOHGAKU ― UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
Discover the breathtaking beauty of Noh masterpiece *Hagoromo* (The Celestial
Feather Robe), performed by Hisanori Kongo—the 26th Grand Master of the
Kongo School and a designated Living National Treasure. The performance will
take place at the Kongo Noh Theatre. We invite you to immerse yourself fully in
Kyoto's rich cultural heritage by exploring the captivating world of Noh, from its
exquisite masks, costumes, stage and to the architecture itself.

Participants are requested to make their own way to and from the venue.

This exclusive private tour offers rare access to traditional Kyoto workshops through three interconnected perspectives: material, craftsmanship, and design.
Through encounters with Kitayama cedar, bamboo, and Kyo-Yuzen craftsmanship, participants will discover the philosophy, aesthetic sensibility, and extraordinary skills of Kyoto artisans, as well as the ways in which centuries-old traditions continue to evolve in contemporary Japan.
Rather than simply viewing finished works, this journey reveals what lies behind them: the materials, time, techniques, and creative decisions that together define Kyoto craftsmanship.
