Culture is not only our historical heritage. It lies at the very roots of how we think, how we act, and how we relate to the world. Coexisting with technologies driven by efficiency and rationality, culture can serve as a vital bond that reconnects people across differences.
For more than a thousand years, Kyoto has embraced diversity. It is a city where the wisdom of cultural tradition meets the frontiers of scientific knowledge. Here in Kyoto, together with the younger generations who will shape the future, we will share with the world new perspectives on how humanity might live in the years ahead.
To think about the future of culture is to think about the future of humanity.
From Kyoto begins a new endeavor to reconnect with one another.
